A Moment of Discovery

It was mid November and most of the leaves had fallen.

The days became evenings with the cool breeze that made everyone stay inside cuddling up next to their loved one.     Sitting on the steps one morning alone she enjoyed the cold wind beneath her hair, sitting on the stairs sipping her cold coffee.

She bundled up wearing one of her sweaters, hair not brushed yet; in a bun.

Her cheeks a flushed red, grinning at whatever happy thought she was pondering about. Her smile from ear to ear as she watched the sun say good morning

Her eyes could fill a library of stories for everyone to hear.  Her stories of family, strength, her walk with God, and her hard times. Or the moments she laughed too loud in a silent crowd.  Her eyes blue as the ocean, icy grey like on a rainy day.

Many had come to offer up just to lay next to her for her beauty.

It was what this generation does love becomes lust, beauty becomes love and it all ends with…lust.  No mannered men who asked to court someone’s daughter, or asked to take her out on a double date.
Instead of talking it was the generation of Swipe Left or Swipe Right.

She had many chances to show herself to whomever she pleased she had that power but instead she sat on the cold step sipping her cold coffee on her own, every morning.    It was truly an eye opening experience for her; watching the sun rise as she slurped her iced coffee from a straw.

She wanted someone who loved God as much as she did, if even more.
Hopefully loved coffee as much as she did.
Someone who prayed every night not about her; but how beautiful the Lord was.   How blessed he felt with what God was doing in his life, and using him in a mighty way!    Someone who dedicated their life to the Lord without a worry or a care! Trusting in Him with whatever it may be. To love Him as much as she did.

God was preparing her until the day she met the one she’d connect with the most; through God’s honest heart. And she was realizing this one morning watching the sun glow through the trees.

Bro. Phil Phillips once said;

Listening to your heart is the worst advice you could give to your friend or brother. But someone who follows God, is saved, and has the right intentions about serving the Lord He will give you a pure heart and lead you at the right path so you can follow your heart. But only follow your heart if God is in it.

She realized it wasn’t just about her beauty but what was truly intended for her.

It was about what God wanted. And it was more to it than what society taught us; it’s what God didn’t want for us. As His children to be a bride for the Lord is the first step and she was ready to finally take that step with pure intentions. It was time to grow up a little.

Dear God protect my heart. Lead me the way to patience and a good heart.

Matthew 6:33  But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Phil. 4:6–7    Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
